Curriculum Vitae

Thomas Crowe joined the Innovation in Governance research group as Project Manager in September 2009.

A cultural and social sciences graduate, Thomas studied between 2004 and 2008 at the European University Viadrina, Frankfurt (Oder), Germany. He obtained a Master of Arts in Cultural and Social Sciences, writing his thesis on life patterns in the GDR according to the films of the DEFA between 1972 and 1980. His first degree is in Modern European Languages, graduating in German and French from the University of Durham, UK, in 2000.

Thomas Crowe's professional background started out in the field of development co-operation. He worked as programme officer for the German Foundation for World Population (DSW), implementing an internet-based training project on innovative information and communication technologies for NGOs in South and Southeast Asia. Furthermore, he was Group Coordinator of the European HIV/AIDS Funders Group, a knowledge-based network of European foundations dedicated to strengthening European philanthropy in the field of HIV/AIDS. Prior to his current position, Thomas was Member Services Coordinator for the European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS), an academic network focusing on the theoretical and empirical advancement of knowledge about organizations, organizing and the contexts in which organizations operate.

Thomas' research interests include modern communication technologies, organisational development and transdiscliplinary project management.
